Whippets Crowned WVJFC Runner Up; 12 - 8

Updated: Jan 23, 2019

Whippets strike early in title game loss, SWB punches in go ahead score in fourth quarter.

The A Team Whippets squared off in their second consecutive WVJFC championship game appearance on Saturday 11/10/2018. With temperatures hovering around 25 degrees the wind chill brought this November Saturday's temperature to nearly 0 degrees. Giving new meaning to the frozen tundra down at Crispin Field.

"We can't let the cold get to us. I told my players you don't want to remember this as a chance you could have won the Super Bowl, but it was too cold."

This was not going to stand in the way of a scrappy Freeland Whippets team (7-1) from achieving their goal. Coach Jonny Forschner said before the game, "We can't let the cold get to us. I told my players you don't want to remember this as a chance you could have won the Super Bowl, but it was too cold."
