It's that time again.... You got it, time to register for football and cheerleading for the 2023 season!
FOOTBALL:
A new age division restructure occurred in 2022 and remains in effect in the WVJFC. Below are the age divisions and weight structures that are still in effect for 2023.
6U DIVISON: For all athletes ages 5 and 6 years old. This division is instructional full contact 11 on 11 football. This means the time on the scoreboard will run, however, no wins or losses will be given as this division is focused solely on the fundamentals of the game.
8U DIVISION: For all athletes ages 7 & 8 years old. Full regulation PIAA football with the exception of no-rush punts.
10U DIVISION: For all athletes ages 9 & 10 years old. Full regulation PIAA football.
12U DIVISION: For all athletes ages 11 & 12 years old. Full regulation PIAA football. No restrictions on 12 year old's.
This divisional format provides more opportunity for development of our athletes. The league weight structure is unlimited tackle to tackle football across the board. This means linemen in all age divisions are no longer bound to a specified weight requirement. Ball carriers are still restricted to a specific weight.
CHEERLEADING:
Additionally for cheerleading the new age restructure from 2022 only eliminated athletes ages 14. Below is the divisional age groups.
7U CHEER: For athletes ages 5, 6, and 7.
9U CHEER: For athletes ages 8 and 9.
11U CHEER: For athletes ages 10 and 11.
13U CHEER: For athletes ages 12 and 13.
REGISTRATION:
Online registration is now open! We have kept our registration prices the same as last year. We will be upgrading our game day jerseys for the 2023 season...and wait until you see our new helmets!
