FREELAND WHIPPETS
The Freeland Whippets are part of the Wyoming Valley Junior Football Conference (WVJFC). All games are played at various locations throughout the Wyoming Valley and its surrounding areas. The conference is broken down into four (4) age divisions - divided by age and weight classifications. Athletes must be the following ages by August 1st.
6U Division
INSTRUCTIONAL FOOTBALL
This division is comprised of athletes ages 5-6:
WEIGHT LIMITS:
UNLIMITED tackle-2-tackle weight

SKILLED WEIGHT: 80 lbs

8U Division
REGULATION FOOTBALL
This division is comprised of athletes ages 7 & 8:

10U Division

WHAT DAYS ARE GAMES PLAYED ON?
All league games are played on Sundays.
WHEN DOES IT START? HOW LONG DOES THE SEASON LAST?
Practices for the 2023 season begin with heat acclimation the week of July 10th with regular practices beginning the week of July 17th. Games begin August 13th. All teams practice 3-4 nights per week. The regular season ends October 8th. Playoffs are October 14th-October 22nd & the Super Bowl is October 29th.
WHAT ABOUT COVID-19? ANY RESTRICTIONS?
At this time all Covid-19 restrictions have been lifted. Hand sanitization stations are available throughout the premises at our field. Please use common courtesy when in the presence of large crowds.
