The Whippets entered their 3rd consecutive WVJFC Super Bowl trying to regain top spot in the A Division as they took on the Carbondale Jr. Chargers A Team. Freeland avenged two regular season losses to Carbondale, by a score of 14-8, capturing their second title in 3 years. 

Andri Diaz started the scoring by capping off the game’s first drive with 15-yard TD run and added an extra point. After the first drive both defenses were in command for most of the day. Joe Cotton forced a fumble on Carbondale’s first possession that was recovered by Adam Castro. Ethan Fogarty came up big at the end of the first half, knocking down a pass in the end zone on fourth and long, keeping Carbondale off the board in the first half.

Freeland did not allow a point until the first play of the fourth quarter. Carbondale’s defense was just as stingy. After giving up a score on the opening possession, they kept the Whippets out of the end zone until their final drive when Diaz punched it in from 10 yards. 

Late in the game Carbondale put together a solid drive until Jacob Agramonte forced a fumble with Freeland's Peter Youngcourt recovering. In attempts to kill the clock, Freeland fumbled the ball right back, deep in their own territory. The Chargers had one final chance picking up the untimely fumble, but on the ensuing play they fumbled right back to the Whippets Bruce Hopeck and the Whippets ran out the clock. 

While only being held to 14 points, the Whippets offense was led by Diaz, who paced the underdogs with 258 total yards and 2 TD's. Joe Cotton and Bryce Veet also contributed offensively. Caden Sopko and Antonio “Toenail” Gonzalez each made some acrobatic catches to keep drives alive. 

Freeland’s stout defense and special teams were led by Adam Castro (6 tackles; FR), Jacob Agramonte (5 tackles; FF), Peter Youngcourt (3 tackles; FR), Bruce Hopeck (4 tackles; FF; FR), Brayan Calcano (3 tackles), Taron Simmons, Joseph Cassidy, Myles Funderburk (2 tackles), and Ethan Fogarty (1 tackle; 1 pass def).

This is the Whippets second WVJFC 13u Championship in three seasons, with three straight championship appearances.
